Dorset and Devon Coast (5): Topsham

Dorset and Devon Coast Trip, Day 7 (Fri 14th May 2021)

We had stayed for a second night at Manor Farm and would be staying at Stoke Gabriel for the next two nights.  We decided to visit Topsham, a large village in Devon, which lies between Exmouth and Exeter on the River Exe.

The River Exe at Topsham

Parking on the harbour car park, tucked into corner, we left Fufu to explore the village.

The River Exe Ferry Jetty (unfortunately not running today).

The village is unspoiled and full of character.  Narrow streets with pretty cottages and a good supply of pubs.

At the end of the main street, the road ends and the only way forward is via a path, called “The Goat Walk”, which runs along the village flood defences.
