Keswick and N. Cumbria (2): Dewentwater and Ashness Bridge

Sunday 15th May

We decided to undertake a more ambitious walk on Sunday, over Walla Crag to Ashness Bridge at the southern end of Derwentwater. Quite a steep route, but with breathtaking views over the lake on the way.

The downstream view, where Peter go his feet wet (again!)

We regrettably took the lower route back towards Keswick which was very difficult underfoot but still entailed a long hard climb. Thankfully it was not too hot, but we were pleased to get back to the site.
