The twin villages of Upper and Lower Slaughter, are about a mile from each other and a similar distance from the larger village of Bourton-on-the-Water in the Cotswolds. All three villages are extremely picturesque with building built of cream coloured Cotswold stone.
Lower Slaughter
Lower Slaughter has the River Eye running through it, crossed by several stone footbridges and a ford. There is also a water mill with a working mill wheel.

Upper Slaughter
Upper Slaughter, as the name suggests, is up the hill from Lower Slaughter. We walked up the road and back along a footpath which crossed the fields. There is some beautiful property:

Upper Slaughter has its own church:

As usual, my eye is taken by the stone heads looking back at me from the walls. The appear to be nobility;

Along the way, we came across some impressive Halloween decorations:

Bourton-on-the-Water
Leaving Fufu in Lower Slaughter, we walked along the footpath downstream to Bourton-on-the-Water, a larger village which is a busy tourist hot-spot with gift shops, a motor museum, a distillery, model village and many eating establishments. Nevertheless, it is beautiful and like Lower Slaughter, has a number of footbridges across the river. In this case it is the River Windrush.

Visiting with a Motorhome:
Lower Slaughter is potentially quite difficult with a motorhome as there is very little parking. Upper Slaughter is also problematic in this regard.
Bourton-on-the-Water is better catered for with a car park that has dedicated motorhome spaces.
