We had booked a stay overnight at the Bell Inn, Wylye, a small picturesque village about 7 miles from Stonehenge and made our way there via the Langford Lakes Nature Reserve, run by the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust.
Langford Lakes Nature Reserve:
We enjoyed a nice walk around the nature reserve. It was fairly quiet, but there were some birds;







Wylye:
We discovered Wylye to be a beautiful little village and enjoyed our wander around.

As I said above, we stayed in the car park of The Bell Inn, which provided a free park-up in return for our being a customer. There were actually three motorhomes staying over.

I am sure it is no coincidence that many pubs are right next to a church, providing a swift drink on the way home after the service. As well as providing an extensive menu and good food, the pub is also a micro-brewery

Stonehenge:
We chose to visit Stonehenge on our way further south on Thursday morning, in the hope it might be a little quieter. Perhaps it was quieter than usual, but it was still very busy. Fortunately, you can take reasonably clean photographs of the stones without crowds of people, as the path you take tends to hide them:
