Portugal / Spain Trip 30: Muros and Finisterre, Spain

Tuesday 6th May 2025

Today we returned to the coast. Firstly along the extreme west coast of Spain, north from a lovely fishing village called Muros, along the quite hilly road to the Faro de Fisterra (Finisterre lighthouse). Along the way, we saw some villages built alongside beautiful beaches.

We stopped for a short while at this one, near a village called Mar de Lira:

Muros:

In addition to some interesting buildings, the very pretty village of Muros, has a fishing industry and a marina.

Muros Town Hall

The village is definitely on the Camino de Santiago:

Mending nets on the quayside.

Finisterre:

Our first glimpse of Finisterre, was long before we arrived:

Finisterre Lighthouse from afar.

We are parked-up for the night, along with a number of other motorhomes, about 100 metres behind the lighthouse, high up and overlooking the Atlantic ocean.

View through our windscreen this evening.

It is a long way down to the sea:

It is quite windy and we are being rocked a bit in Fufu, but we are a couple of feet from the edge, so should be OK:

We explored the area a little:

A post makes it clear that this is a start of the Camino de Santiago:

Well there is a good chance that we will be rocked to sleep tonight, so that is it for today. See u Later, TTFN.
