We headed north again today, heading for the small and beautiful hill-top, medieval town of Saint-Emilion.
Saint-Emilion:

We have visited here, many times over the years, but the most recent was in December 2023. You can view the post using the following link: https://see-u-later.co.uk/2023/12/15/spain-trip-2-val-des-vignes-and-saint-emilion/

Today, although quieter than in the high season, it was reasonably busy. We also visited the church and the cloisters:

We had the usual wander round and topped-up on some essential oils we had previously purchased, then had lunch in a pizza restaurant next to the lavoire. All very pleasant. It is lovely to be back on familiar ground.

The town is most well-know for the wine, and there are many specialist retailers:

Clos Vieux Rochers:
When possible, we have always enjoyed excellent wine from a vineyard near the village of Puisseguin; “Clos Vieux Rochers”. The British owners, Rob and Steve, who also have some gite accommodation, are very welcoming.

After stocking-up on our favourite red, we were able to park-up for the night, right at the end of the rows of vines, then watch the sun going down.

If you are interesting in staying, you can find contact information on both the “Park 4 Night” and “Search for Sites” apps.

That is all for today. TTFN and see-u-later.
